After da Vinci
The models in this collection are owned by IBM Australia and have been on loan to the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) since the early 1990s. Originally constructed for IBM by Italian engineer Roberto Guatelli, the models were a part of a program of touring exhibitions across the United States presented by IBM's Gallery of Art and Science.
While at UTS the collection has toured regional galleries in Australia and SE Asia in an exhibition titled 'Leonardo da Vinci: Models of Genius', and more recently was displayed at UTS in 'Models of Invention: The Science Fiction of Leonardo da Vinci'.
The collection is currently on display in public spaces over 4 levels of the UTS Faculty of Engineering and IT building [CB11]. 'After da Vinci' showcases Leonardo's ingenious designs alongside more recent innovations and inventions, marking UTS as a place where creativity meets technology.
